The New Classical Generation 2008 is a CD compilation, showcasing the latest and freshest classical music talent.This release features five tracks from the voices of five young classical crossover artists: Blake, Hayley Westenra, David Garrett, Jonathan Ansell and the highly anticipated Will Martin.
Young and talented, each of these artists have helped to open up the classical genre to a wider and younger audience with their fresh repetoire of music.Spanning from movie theme tunes to contempory pop, their music provides an accesible platform from which many listeners can get into the wider world of classical music. Talking about his brand new album, 'Virtuoso', David Garrett explains how it was his chance to 'create a young, fun album that opens doors'. The same goes for Will Martin. The 23 year old New Zealand singer sees his music as a way of reaching out to people, particularly the younger generation:
'Dress me like a pop star and let me sing, and maybe some eighteen-year-old girl will go out and buy a classical album for the first time.'
